REVIEW

Bruce Cervon careful recorded many things he learned from Dai Vernon at the Magic Castle. His notes grew to fill fourteen binders. These volumes became known as the legendary "Castle Notebooks." Later with Dai Vernon's permission the "Castle Notebooks" aided in the creation of "The Vernon Chronicles." A wealth of magical lore can be found in these books.

"The Lost Inner Secrets" is the first one. Though this book contains many great card effects, each well worth the price of the book. The section that deals with coins is probably the most intriguing. The most enjoyable is "Silk and Silver."

In "Silk and Silver" Dai takes three coins, and places them in the center of a silk. He takes up the corners to form a small bag around the coins, and shakes the coins in the silk. When he drops all but one corner of the silk, the coins have vanished. Dai then shows both front and back of the silk, proving that the coins have truly vanished. He then takes up the corners again to form a silk bag. Reaching out his hand he grabs an invisible coin and places it in the bag. When the coin drops it displaces the bottom of the silk. The first coin has reappeared in the silk. When he repeats the procedure two more times, the coins fall onto the previous coin making a clicking sound. After all three coins have return, Dai opens the bag to show that the coins have returned to the center of the silk.
