The Academy of the Magical Arts

The Magic Castle opened its doors in 1963 and never looked back. Well, that's not really true. The Magic Castle is steeped in magical history. Not to looking back is to lose a glorious treasure of magical lore. The Academy of Magical Arts calls it home, and has been the magic Mecca for the past several decades. No place has shaped the modern magic world as much as the Magic Castle.

Many attributed the resident magician Jay Ose to the success of the Magic Castle. In 1963 Dai Vernon came to visit Jay Ose and ended up staying. Dai Vernon is probably the most notable resident magician of the Magic Castle. Magicians from all over the world came to the Magic Castle to learn from the "Professor" Dai Vernon. Many of today's great magicians (Michael Ammar, Bruce Cervon, John Carney, Larry Jennings just to name a few) came to learn from Dai Vernon.

The Magic Castle is a wonderful place to visit. It has many nooks and crannies that would take several weeks to explore. However, to visit it you need to be a member, or one of their guests. Still, to find out more about the Magic Castle you can get the book Milt Larsen's Magic Castle Tour. You can also check out their Web Page by clicking on the logo above.
