Seasons' Greetings. The annual family Christmas party started with a pot luck dinner, followed by the entertainment. Thalia Swinyer acted as the Master of Ceremony and introduced each performer. The first magician Andrew Baerlocker performed a mind reading card trick. The next magician was Ron Seward. He performed Traveling Money with foreign coins. Quentin Smith then did the Further Than That card trick. Benjamin Yang followed Quentin and showed us how rope tricks can go Further Than That. Chris Kenney did some mental magic. However, Mike Cottam did a cheap trick that came to a total of seven ½ cents. He didn't have enough money to go Further Than That. But David "Magic" Johnson went Further Than That and performed the "Mental Origami Money" trick.

Ron Nelson performed the Egg Joke (or is that Yoke) trick. He then pulled a thimble from a spectator's ear. He also demonstrated the strange properties of a chalk paddle. Rebecca Nelson penetrated a dollar bill with a pencil. Ruth Sulik caused the Egg Whites left behind by the Egg Yoke trick to disappear. Jess Cone did the Christmas Card trick and introduced us to the Santa Klaus card. Adam Meziani performed a card trick with a single card. Where the only card that a spectator could select disappeared. John Maynard did the Little House on the Table. He made toy furniture appear from a small empty house. Ed Rock performed the Ring on a String, and Kim Walkowski did the One Off Card trick. Angelica Hartman did a Cut and Restore rope routine where the restored ropes spelled out "Merry Christmas." Len Swinyer did the "Ultimate Three Card Monty" and then the White Christmas trick. In the White Christmas the selected Santa Klaus card changes the color of the deck of cards to white. You would have thought that was enough, but the evening entertainment went Further Than That.

Gifts were exchanged, dessert was served and everyone gathered around the fire place. Tom Cantrell sat in front of the fire place and regaled us with his story about a "Kid and a Christmas Tree." Unfortunately any description of his story here would not do it justice. The reality of it goes much Further Than That.
